Location. The historic Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw is located in the centre of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It's one block to busy Dam Square and two blocks to the Royal Palace. Centraal Station is less than half a kilometre away.
Hotel Features. The hotel occupies a four storey building, built in 1911 in typical Amsterdam style. The smart tiled lobby features complimentary newspapers and flight departure screens.
The Hotel Amsterdam is famous for its De Roode Leeuw Restaurant, a historic, wood beamed eatery, decorated in traditional style with Dutch antiques. It serves regional cuisine from all over Holland, French specialities and wild game in the winter. There's a complimentary welcome cocktail for hotel guests. De Roode Leeuw Restaurant also serves light meals, pastries and drinks in an enclosed terrace, overlooking the busy street. The hotel offers 24 hour room service.

From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS):
Distance to the Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw is 16 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.
Getting there. A railway station is located under Schiphol Plaza, in the central hall of the terminal. Every 15 minutes a direct train runs to Amsterdam Central Station. Shared Schiphol Travel taxis can be found outside the arrivals hall. The cars can seat up to eight people and cost around 19 EUR per person. Private taxis into Amsterdam city centre cost approximately 40 EUR. Public buses frequently run to Amsterdam and other destinations. Buses 197 and 370 go to central Amsterdam and Amsterdam Zuid. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. The hotel is on Damrak, just off Dam Square, less than half a kilometre from Centraal Station. Amsterdam can easily be explored by foot. However, there are convenient bus, tram and metro services running through the city and outside areas. Cycling is also a popular way to see Amsterdam. There are taxi ranks at Centraal Station. Driving within the canal ring is discouraged.
