Location. The Golden Tulip Berghotel Amersfoort is housed in a former mansion, built in 1903 and set in attractive gardens, and is located one kilometre south of Amersfoort centre and 15 kilometres from Utrecht. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is 50 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of one hour.
Hotel Features. The hotel is surrounded by hiking and biking trails, and offers an in house bicycle hire service. The Golden Tulip Berghotel Amersfoort also houses fitness equipment, and the public areas are equipped with wireless Internet access. Other amenities include a gift shop, laundry facilities and room service (limited hours). Motorists will find complimentary parking on site.
The Berghotel Brasserie offers an a la carte menu for lunch and dinner, and opens onto a terrace during summer.
Guestrooms. The 90 guestrooms are individually decorated with colourful fabrics and modern furnishings. All are equipped with cable television, wireless Internet access, telephones, clock radios, refrigerators and bathrooms with shower/tub combinations.
Expert Tip. The historic inner city of Amersfoort features medieval streets and squares, and is home to more than 380 monuments, churches and museums.

Getting there. There is a railway station in the terminal's central hall, under Schiphol Plaza; direct trains run to Amersfoort Central Station, which is two kilometres from the hotel. Alternatively a taxi to the hotel should cost around 65 EUR.
Driving directions. From the airport, take the A1 and follow signs for Amersfoort. Then take the A28 towards Utrecht and follow signs for Amersfoort centre. Continue for 150 metres, and the hotel is on the left hand side.
